Ramin Setoodeh, the co-editor-in-chief of Variety, posted an update on X, saying that the winning bid for the guest role was 250,000 euros, which is about $271,121.50.
However, someone who knows about the situation says that Netflix has not in fact greenlit another season of “Emily in Paris”. According to the official amfAR auction website, the guest role was given “Courtesy of Darren Star,” the creator of the show. The website was updated recently to say that the winning bid “will get the chance to spend a day on set in Paris during filming, if season 5 gets approved.” Originally, the auction details suggested that a fifth season was already happening, without mentioning any conditions.
The amfAR website now says that the walk-on role depends on whether there is a Emily In Paris season 5.
